Product Description
In 2021, the renowned brand Montecristo celebrated its 85th anniversary, and in honor of this significant milestone, Altadis U.S.A. released the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua cigars. To create this special edition, Altadis once again collaborated with brand ambassador Rafael Nodal, their elite Grupo de Maestros, and renowned cigar maker AJ Fernandez. These three experts have previously worked together on the popular Cuban heritage lines of the brand. For this particular release, they decided on a Nicaraguan puro blend using only Cuban seed tobaccos, carefully hand-rolled in AJ Fernandez's esteemed San Lotano factory in Ocotl, Nicaragua. The Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua series consists of four box-pressed sizes. Unlike square-pressed cigars, which are formed in slotted wooden trays, box-pressed or Soft Press cigars are round cigars tightly packed into their own dress boxes and then pressed by hand. This results in a slightly square-shaped cigar that offers a slow burn and effortless draw. The selected tobaccos in this blend provide a medium to full-bodied smoke with rich flavors of wood, coffee, cinnamon, earth, and spice, all complemented by a sweet tobacco finish. You can purchase a box from 1st Class Cigar and experience the combination of the Grupo de Maestros' exceptional Cuban craftsmanship with AJ Fernandez's modern blending style. This cigar has received a well-deserved 95-point rating and was ranked second on Cigar Aficionado's Top 25 Cigars of 2021 list.
