The 2010 growing season in the Connecticut River Valley saw record-high temperatures and humidity, as well as optimal rainfall, which produced an especially high quality of Connecticut shade wrapper leaf. This inspired the Macanudo Vintage 2010 Churchill cigars, the successor to the Maduro Vintage 1997 line and the JR Exclusive Certified Vintage series launched over three decades ago. The blend for Macanudo Vintage 10 is comprised of a Nicaraguan binder and long-filler of Dominican Piloto 94 leaves, combined with Nicaraguan and Honduran tobacco that have been aged for up to five years.
