1st Class Cigar Humidors - How it all Began...
Back in late 1998, I stumbled upon an article about the "Cigar Boom” of the 1990’s.
The “Cigar Boom” was an era where US cigar consumption came back to life bringing with it a dramatic increase in demand for premium cigars. Being that I’ve always been the type of person who occasionally enjoys a good smoke, this article was right up my alley.
Not only was the article a good read, it also sparked off a few interesting business ideas which led me into a deeper research of the cigar industry. Soon enough, I started my own ecommerce website selling cigar accessories. 1st Class Cigar Humidors was born!
My first website had 3 different humidors to choose from and was definitely far from glorious! Although the selection was modest, the site expanded steadily. I started with a stock of less than a dozen humidors in the corner of our 2 car garage and within 1 year grew to fill it from end to end. My one-man home based business started to get a bit hard to handle on my own. So by the second year, I moved into my first office which was a mere 800 square feet and hired my first employee. Since then we relocated 3 times and have expanded into a multi-warehouse location with a staff 12. We now carry over 200 different humidors and cigar accessories along with 3,800 different faces of cigars.
As our company has grown, we have focused more and more on customer satisfaction. We don’t just make a sale and cut ties. We stand behind our products. As hard as we try to make sure every one of our customers are satisfied, we do encounter unexpected issues from time to time. Maybe you receive your humidor and the color is not what you expect and you wish to return it or an item arrives defective and needs to be replaced.
